ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This image was captured on a day trip in the Northeast state of India, Meghalaya. This Khasis tribal boy was standing around, looking a little bored, like he was waiting for a playmate or avoiding his mothers chore list. We spent a lot of time in the car on this trip and I took to shooting candids with my camera held out of the window and without the benefit of the viewfinder. When I reviewed the days images, this serendipitous grab stood out as a winner. The luck of catching all the elements I wanted without a lot of extra and the unusual angle instantly made it a favorite. This print is being offered for the first time in a limited edition of 20. It is printed on a heavy Hahnemuehle Photo Rag paper with UltraChrome PRO12 pigment for the highest quality color reproduction and archival standards. The 12 inch by 16 inch image has a one inch white border for increased flexibility of finishing options. Print and Certificate of Authenticity are both numbered and signed by the artist.

Thomas Schneider was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, spent most of his adult life in northern Michigan, and now resides in New Orleans, Louisiana. His 45-year history with photographic art led him to explore many styles and techniques, producing a unique collection of images. Many of these pieces are now being offered to collectors for the first time. Moving to New Orleans in 2013, he works and socializes with many talented artists in various mediums. His emersion in this community has inspired new work and focus on his primary passion, abstracts. Finding aesthetically pleasing representations of the interplay of objects, color, and light, where that interplay is the "subject" rather than any individual element. That challenge continually pushes him to seek the places where that interplay hides in plain sight. website:
