Savannah Spirit is a fine-art photographer based in New York City and Los Angeles. Savannah was born in Los Angeles into an already artistic family, which included her grandfather, Bob Russell and great uncle, Bud Green, both well known songwriters from the Tin Pan Alley era. At an early age, Savannah was surrounded by musicians, composers, actors and visual artists, not surprising she was shooting pictures as early as 7 years old. Since 2014, Savannah has been working on I Am My Own Muse, a self-portrait project addressing body positivity and censorship. Savannah has been interviewed about her work on NBC News, Artsy, ArtNet, Esquire and the National Coalition Against Censorship's Arts Advocacy podcast. Savannah's images have been published in AINT-BAD, Artsy, The Abolitionist, The Nation, LA Weekly, Best American Poetry, Bomb, Vice, W, Shindig!, Dazed, Bullett, Billboard, THE Magazine, Huffington Post. Savannah has lectured about her work at various Apple stores in New York City. Savannah’s work is in private collections in Rome, Sao Paolo, London, Miami, New York and Los Angeles including a permanent piece in Tom Ford's Houston flagship store.
