Geboren im November 1991 und aufgewachsen in Piatra Neamt, Rumänien, fotografierte Ciprian Olaru schon als Kind mit der analogen Kamera seiner Eltern. Ab 2012 entdeckte er Instagram und den digitalen Raum als weltweite Plattform für sich. Ausgehend vom Smartphone wechselte er schnell zu seiner ersten digitalen Spiegelreflex-Kamera: einer Nikon. Seit 2020 fotografiert er überwiegend mit einer Hasselblad. Das Reisen spiegelt sich bereits in der Lebensgeschichte des jungen Fotografen wieder. Über längere Aufenthalte in Rom und London, kam der Rumäne nach Deutschland, wo er 2019 in Worpswede seßhaft wurde. Das Interesse an der Architektur steht bei seinen Arbeiten im Vordergrund. Es sind die grafischen und symmetrischen Strukturen bei der Motivauswahl, die ihn ästhetisch faszinieren und im Foto festgehalten werden. Born in November 1991 and raised in Piatra Neamt, Romania, Ciprian Olaru took photographs as a child with his parents' analog camera. From 2012 he discovered Instagram and the digital space as a global platform for himself. Starting with the smartphone, he quickly switched to his first digital single lens reflex camera: a Nikon. Since 2020 he has been taking photos mainly with a Hasselblad. The travel is already reflected in the life story of the young photographer. After longer stays in Rome and London, the Romanian came to Germany, where he settled in Worpswede in 2019. The focus of his work is on the interest in architecture. It is the graphic and symmetrical structures in the choice of motifs that fascinate him aesthetically and that are captured in the photo.
