Wet Fabric Print

Wet Fabric resulted when a patch of cotton rib collar material was washed. The swatch of fabric had been used at a photo shoot comprising a female model, a victim of cancer's blight on humanity. The model had had a double mastectomy. She suffered tremendous loss of femininity, and with infection entering her left re-structured breast it was considered necessary to remove the inserts. She is a remarkable woman, and agreed to collaborate in creating a small portfolio of photographs that explored the affects of illness, surgery, and recovery. Her bravery to expose her emotional turmoil was evident, and we succeeded to produce alarmingly tender and tragic images. Her individual strength came from the love from her young daughter. Mourning her lost body parts was part of this photographic journey. She's admitted to realising the experience helped her overcome her sadness and negativity. The fact posing for my camera assisted by being a process of completion. Today she is a happier person. Her daughter's belief in her mother's resolution has created a similar appreciation of health and happiness within her. I have been told that shortly that further breast re-modelling will be undertaken. When peering at this quite innocent photograph I am reminded of the greater issue and the effects of disease on all humanity.
