I took this picture in the natural biosphere reserve of Río Lagartos. Life here flows between two things - fishing, and watching birds. So the birds were who caught my eye. A full crew of pelicans had “invaded” a boat, as if it belonged to them. No permission asked. They stood there like they’d alw...

I never imagined becoming a photographer, but after spending 3 months traveling in Mexico in 2013, I found myself mesmerized and captivated by everything I saw around me. The visual impulse was so strong and all-consuming that, at one point, I felt it was TOO MUCH TO KEEP TO MYSELF. I felt an almost physical need to share what I was seeing with the world. At first, I tried simply snapping pictures of what was in front of me, but, of course, I couldn’t capture what I was truly experiencing. That’s when I started reading articles and books on photography, slowly diving into one rule of composition or lighting at a time, applying what I learned to my own images. In 2022, I moved to Mallorca, where I became captivated by the variety of coves and pastoral landscapes. Since 2025, I have been living on Lanzarote, drawn to its unique, near The Dune aesthetic. As my surroundings and inner state changed, so did my photography. The images from my time in Mexico are about color and contrasts—reflecting both the world around me, and the one within me. (Just before moving to Mexico, I ended a relationship that had lasted for a third of my life, and found myself in a vivid and unfamiliar environment that truly fascinated me.) My Mallorca images speak of peace, light, and shadow, of observing myself and the world around me. It was a time when I found love again and secluded myself with it in our small Mediterranean island reality. My Canary Island reality is about the "otherness," about challenging myself with a new environment and new surroundings. Regardless of some expressed tendencies in my art, sometimes I make photos in a completely different style than I used to, influenced and inspired by something, giving myself pleasure from the exploration and curiosity
