About the Artist

Violeta Vollmer

Germany

Born in Lithuania, Violeta Vollmer-Dundulyte graduated in fine arts at the Estonian Academy of Arts and was set free by the end of Soviet dictatorship. In 1994 she moved to Germany and later lived and worked as a freelance artist in Buenos Aires, Argentina for eight years, and Windhoek, Namibia for three years before relocating to Germany in 2011. Driven by the effects of globalization, living and working in numerous countries, and being a migrant herself, she uses a variety of materials and techniques (photography, painting, video art, sculpture, etc.) to express herself on her continued journey.
