ANDRES BONINO Andres Bonino (1979, Montevideo, Uruguay) is a Uruguayan architect and visual artist. He develops his work within minimalism and color field, a New York movement of the mid-twentieth century closely linked to abstract expressionism. Trained in architecture and modern design, his compositions follow the inverse logic of the architect's formal process, taking elements of reality -the built- to abstract them, re-signify them and return them to the plan. Thus, images, plans and elevations are analyzed in their basic structures and processed graphically, to later be captured, with technical precision on the canvas. Volumetry and emptiness, light and shadow, service spaces and served spaces, perspective and planimetry coexist in its universe, which uses acrylic and a limited color palette (white, black, gray, red, blue and yellow) to materialize it.
