ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Sobé Lights is a series of images of the great neon signs in the Art Deco district of South Beach, Miami done in my photo-expressionist style. Photo-Expressionism is a style I perfected making photographs look like paintings. In part the style developed from playing around with digital software such as photoshop. CURRENT WORK Innovative digital artist *Max Singer examines gender, sexual identity and societal taboos. Each image is a unique montage utilizing portraits of anonymous Americans from the his personal collection of Cabinet Cards and Carte de Visites from the “Gilded Age – 1865 to 1900”. They are created using the unique digital PHOTO-EXPRESSIONIST, FOTOGRAFIX and other techniques Max developed over his 35+ year career working with Adobe Creative Suite and similar software. ::Photo-expressionism: ::Fotografix: PAST WORK 1980s NYC Art Star: *One of the brashest, most vibrant and challenging exponents of that genre of New York Art loosely known as “Streetstyle/Urban Primitive”. Late 90s Faux Naif *Max became enamored with Outsider Art and and the work of French Artist Jean Dubuffet. This led to his series called “FAUX NAIF”. :: :: Mid 2000s Street Artist known as Chawkman *His streetart limned a mythical place not unlike NYC.
