ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The title is a pun between ascent and a scent. Indeed to fall in love, one must first rise up and this sentimental dizziness often occurs by inhaling the perfume of the loved one. I do not know if in the case of this work, the woman chooses to ignore her suitor, perhaps she is embarrassed by such attention. Or, perhaps, it is the projection of the fantasy born from the breathing of this man, eyes closed and heart all open to the evocation of amorous happiness.
