What I paint are three dimensional structures. They are the starting point for exploring color and light. They are abstract. But they are grounded in the real world. The forms have weight and substance. They can be seen as paintings of sculptures or architectural forms. Each plain and color reacts with it's partner creating a mood. tension or harmony that is part of the story of a painting. I paint. Art is a full time love, hate and love again relationship. But here I am in love with a process that consumes and elevates. Each painting is a war you battle with until you get to a point where you don't need to fight with it any more. You never really win. It's a peace you can live with. Born English became Australian... always half Irish now living in the US.
