VIEW IN MY ROOM
Limited edition of 50 digital prints in 11 colours of fine art paper by Digilablondon. Taken from an original oil painting on canvas 110 x150cms of London Routemaster buses at a bus stop in 1982. Exhibited Fischer Fine Art,London and Loius K Meisel Gallery, New York. Now in a private collection. My studio at the time was in Chiswick, London and overlooked the London Transport delivery depo for new London buses. They arrived as skeletal chassis with a driver wearing goggles and a helmet. The red body was then dropped onto the chassis and the new bus put through its paces on the skid pan.I was fascinated by this London icon and positioned myself at a local bus stop to watch the arrivals and departures. This painting captured both.
