ABOUT THE ARTWORK
‘Shoreline’ is a unique monotype made at the artist’s studio in Cadiz, southern Spain. The artist makes many works using his local coastal environment as a starting point to create an emotional response to the land and sea. This particular image focuses on the dazzling colors and light for which this particular coastline is renowned. Tim’s monotypes are completely unique pieces of work made from applying ink to several copper etching plates and taking them through an etching press, gradually building up an image, layer after layer.

I was born in Staffordshire, UK and was based in London for twenty years, where I taught fine art at University level while maintaining a career as a professional artist before leaving the teaching profession and concentrating solely on making art. For the last 18 years he has been based in Cadiz Province on the Costa de la Luz in southern Spain, where I make most of my work.
