Printmaking: Ink on Paper. The tombola is a traditional board game born in the city of Naples in the eighteenth century, as a home alternative to the lotto game, and often accompanied by a system of association between numbers and meanings, usually humorous (La Smorfia). According to tradition, the tombola was born in 1734 from a discussion between King Charles of Bourbon and father Gregorio Maria Rocco about the game of the lotto, which the former wanted under public control, to prevent the flourishing following its suppression of the underground lot, and the second considered immoral for religious reasons. The compromise was found by forbidding the game during the Christmas holidays, during which families organized themselves with this version from home, which soon became a custom in those days of the year. Typical Neapolitan game. Saatchiart allows everyone, through free registration to their network, to set up their own showcase of works, and to socialise with other members, artists, collectors and curators. All this has as its ultimate goal the sale of the exhibited works. For an artist who bases his work on the transfer of the elaboration of a thought or concept, on the construction of a "transference" image of that thought, exhibiting their works digitally and attracting the attention of a potential buyer or the interest of a curator exclusively through the aesthetic satisfaction of their works, is undoubtedly a “strong” and perhaps even revealing experience. By socialising through "following" - "followers" and "favourites", each artist has the hope of attracting the attention of some curators and being automatically selected in a collection, thus exponentially multiplying the visibility and the probability of selling. Being selected in a catalogue is undoubtedly the maximum exposure. Being the protagonist of a video-documentary filmed in your studio is to be considered the maximum consecration. Surely the Saatchi world feeds the "dream" of any artist or pseudo ones, without discrimination of any kind. We sell everything, art of all kinds and of any culture. Of any taste. In the Saatchi world, the strategies adopted by the artists to be noticed the most are many: There are the super-active ones and those who wait for something to happen without being anxious. There are those who believe that the daily socialisation activity can increase visibility, there are those who think that things can happen by magic, and they wait for something to happen. There are those who compulsively "follow" other artists hoping that they will return the appreciation, collecting thousands of followers and thousands of "favourites" without ever being selected in a collection or selling a painting. There are those who exhibit hundreds of paintings without selling one. Some people are selected by the curator for the first exhibited work. There are those who have two selected works in the same collection. There are those who after years of activity have never been selected. There are those who sell without ever having been selected by a curator. There are those who are often selected in the collections and do not sell any work. There are those who have 1000 followers and do not follow anyone. There are those who follow 1000 artists without being followed by anyone. There are the flatterers of the published collections ... In the Saatchi world anything can happen. ....... the image of your work on the right bulletin board at the right time. All this can create exciting spells and terrible frustrations. A doubt arises, but maybe ... he is the one who decides. The works shown here are born from these reflections and want to be playful. Questioning fate, playing with luck… It's a world, and you can be Donald Duck or Gaston
