Irises are one of my favorite flowers. I love them for the variety of colors, shades, their combinations in one flower, for the petals of an incredible, varied shape, fragility and tenderness. And some also for the smell. These flowers grow on all continents. There are more than 800 types of them. A lot of interesting things are connected with this plant in religion and history. In Christianity, flowers symbolize the purity and sorrow of the Virgin Mary. In Europe, these flowers were used to represent royalty. The lilac shade in many countries was a symbol of the highest ranks of the state. There are a variety of petals in beauty and shade, but there are no purely scarlet ones, since the plant lacks the gene responsible for such a tone. But such a flower is depicted on a white background of the flag of Florence and has been a symbol for over 750 years. In the US state of Tennessee, iris is the state flower and symbol. In the city of Knoxville, the festival of these plants is held annually and guests can see the luxurious and varied compositions of iris. The picture was made in the technique "Embossed surface" developed by me from decorative plaster. The flower petals and leaves made using this technique are thin but strong. Flowers made from this material are durable and do not require special care. They will not wither, dry out or lose their color, because are covered with protective varnish. Framed and ready to hang.

My name is Tetiana. I was born in Ukraine in Kharkov city. I am a programmer by education. But there has always been love for art, there were ballet, gymnastics, dancing, singing. I painted nesting dolls. There was also a passion for decoupage. Later I created collages, sometimes combining this technique with decoupage. The next love is collage in Photoshop, artistic photo processing. But a few years ago I got acquainted with the technique of Sculptural Painting, then a new direction in art. I independently mastered this technique, participated in the first competition, where my work won third place, created my own style, which I called "Embossed Surface", recorded a video of masterclass on it. This hobby gave a powerful impetus to my creative desires and abilities. Private painting lessons from a Kharkov artist helped me to determine the priorities. Now I’m alternating “Sculptural painting - Embossed Surface” with painting in the impasto technique, with my own Mosaic technique and with modeling from polymer clay. And I get great pleasure from all these types of creativity. I do what reflects my vision of the world and myself in it.
