A deeply human composition in which three hands — one young, one adult, one aged — intertwine in a spiral of care and continuity. Wood Sculptor – Visual Artist Artist Statement / Biography I was born and live in Athens. Since 2013, wood sculpture has not merely been an artistic practice for me; it is a way of being — a sacred act of internal revelation and communication that transcends words and touches the deepest layers of the human soul. Inspiration My inspiration is drawn from the invisible struggles of existence — the tension between light and darkness, the longing for inner purification, and the silent cries of the soul. I am moved by what is hidden beneath the surface of things: humility, redemption, and the unspoken truth that lies in every human heart. Artistic Process Each of my works begins with silence — a spiritual listening to the wood itself. I work exclusively by hand, using traditional tools to carve linden (tilia) wood, allowing the material’s grain and energy to guide the evolution of form. The process is meditative and slow, requiring full presence and deep inner alignment. Mediums Used I primarily use solid linden wood blocks, working in high-relief or semi-sculptural forms. Occasionally, I apply subtle touches of natural pigment or tempera to enhance the spiritual resonance of a piece, always respecting the natural texture of the wood. What I Aim to Express Through each sculpture, I aim to make visible the invisible — to express the inner movement of the soul through gestures, expressions, and sacred tensions. My goal is to create a space of silent encounter between the viewer and the mystery within themselves. I hope my work invites contemplation, emotional honesty, and the rediscovery of our shared human depth. Every carving is a dialogue. Every form is a fragment of silence incarnate.
