Bald Women constitutes the artist’s attempt to address the cult of feminine beauty, corporeality, and youth. The author accurately notes that the delight of artists over what is fleeting and evanescent has been present in art for centuries. He himself, however, decides to show viewers the opposite: the process of change, old age, sickness. The sculpture embodies mental problems, physical traumas, and internal diseases. Their flaws, which we are often unwilling to observe, are exposed in this work. This sculpture reminds us that youth and beauty are only moments in a woman’s long life.
