Valdas Kurklietis is a ceramic artist. Born 1975 in Kaunas, Lithuania. In 2002, he received a master's degree in ceramic art from the Vilnius Academy of Fine Arts in Lithuania. Since 1999, he has participated in exhibitions and projects in Lithuania and abroad. Seven separate exhibitions were exhibited in Lithuania and Sweden. Valdas participated in 48 group exhibitions and 10 group projects in different countries. Since 2015, he lives and works in a studio in Stockholm, Sweden. Valdas works with a series of ceramic sculptures and experiments with various stoneware. Through his conceptual and often fun and sometimes disturbing ceramic sculptures, he reflects on social and existential themes such as meaningless consumption or global warming.
