Caring: Side-by-Side Print

This work is portion of a collection the artist has begun exploring the elements of the QR Code, a subject area where his previous works mostly include 2-D and slightly 3-D approaches. The standard QR Code includes several elements, one of which is the "Finder", the square shape found in three of each code's corners. Within this square shape is another square, known as the "Target". This square "Target" has been explored here in this work: pulled out of the "Target", pulled out of the QR Code, as an element into itself. This work is created using clay and marble. The clay includes a heavy amount of Grog, which aided in the firing process of such a thick mass without cracking. The work is glazed with a metallic glazing. The marble is from a quarry that calls its character as "crema".
