Dallas gradated from the Royal College of Art in 2001 with a Masters Degree in sculpture and foundry art practice. His former career as an aerospace engineer and his eclectic interest in science and science fiction have influenced most of his sculptural art practice for a number of years. His work has been featured in publications, exhibitions and major shows throughout the UK, Europe and USA, with numerous works in private and public art collections. In 2007, Dallas was fortunate to be short-listed for the Jerwood sculpture prize and in 2008 was commissioned by Barratt Homes to produce a major new sculpture for a new housing development near Bristol. In 2009 Dallas helped initiate an artist collective, this culminated in the group being short-listed in 2010 to represent Wales at the 54th Venice Biennale 2011. In 2017 Dallas became a network member at the Royal West of England Academy Bristol and in January 2018 he was elected as an Academician and council member of the RWA. Also this year Dallas was selected as member of the Royal Society of Sculptors. In 2020 Dallas had the privilege of being asked to joined the Board of trustee of the RWA.
