Dove Print

This work was inspired by Frida Khalo and her many depictions of doves in her still life works. In a multimedia project, her still lives were a source of inspiration for props that I made by hand to add ambience to the story. In this multimedia project for a song titled, How Why Wave, the dove acts as a prop for the art film. I chose to work with air dry clay, as a painter new to sculpture. I was able to gesso- and paint the sculpture with acrylic. The style was selected, as the art film is a duo music video for How Why Wave, and I wished to portray the aspects of magical realism with several aspects being imagined, and felt before they are physically percieved.
