ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The human body acts as a language that can interact with us, who live in groups. Through our bodies, we can identify ourselves and communicate with others, which is like a social sign. My work, which expresses our body as a sculpture, provides an opportunity to find the complete value of the individual's existence, which is gradually losing its existence amid the flood of stimulating images. By representing individual values in the relationship of sculpture, we represent the values we should aim for and suggest directions. It is a part of my work, From The Gaze series.

Through my work, I try to express the realm of everyday life in a sensuous form rather than a logical description. I think that emotional exchange can take place based on each audience's anxiety and inner feelings and can be displaced into the realm of communication. In it, a horizontal relationship between the past and the present, inside and outside, private and public, culture and another culture, and the time of me and the other is connected, forming a horizontal relationship of numerous stories stacked on top of each other. Just as elements that are hybrid rather than pure, elements that are eclectic rather than clean, and elements that are ambiguous rather than clear, are more attractive than those of perfection. The cracks contained in this process are dismantled in a simple and direct way to lead to a new mass (sculpture).
