About The Artwork

With ever increasing diverse social patterns and consumer groups, individual living conditions have been changing and become more diversified. My aim is that the head sculptures convey this social phenomenon, responding to a person life style and the active state of their innermost feelings.

"ALL THINGS ARE IN CURVING" is my creative philosophy. I have always been paying attention to the theme of space, time, and life. Now Cosmology believes that time does not exist in the universe, and there is no time to speak of. Just like the "All Thing Are Curve" (2009) and "Life Continues In Space" series (2010) of sculptures, they have no beginning or end, neither a starting point nor an end. They are a kind of eternal reincarnation, just like the Tai Chi of Chinese Taoism, in an infinite state of reincarnation from something to nothing and from nothing to something. So there is no concept of the present, past, or future, and there is no existence of time. In the "Life Continues In Space" series of sculpture works, I use English gerund to name each work to convey the eternal movement of substance, while the sculpture shape only records part of the process of this movement. He will continue, without beginning or end. The human view of time and space is that when substance arises, space also arises. When substance moves, time is the movement of substance. In order to record the movement trajectory of this substance, humans use clock time to represent and record the sequence of human beings from scratch, our birth, and death, as well as the flowering and falling of flowers, etc. So I try to show the existence and significance of time with the sculpture "Beautiful Evolution" series (2008) and the performance art "Burning the Life" (2007). And for each of us, time is about recording the occurrence of each story and the interrelationships between stories, so I created the oil painting "Stories in Stories" series (2015). Use curved lines to symbolize the fun and flexibility of the story, and use colors to add diversity to the story. In this way, everyone's life is woven from countless stories, and the sculptures "Communication" series (2021) and "Fusion" series (2023) showcase the structure of each person's story. As it happens to us personally, each story is interconnected, touching and colliding with each other, and cognitive, emotional, and attitudinal tendencies merge into one. The increment of time is always positive, just like when a person is from one year old to ten years old, the tree grows larger from small. So I try to create the "Dipping" (2020) of performance art. On the other hand, my understanding of human survival is that the past is repeated every day, so repetition has become the language focus of the oil painting series "Net" (2018).
