About The Artwork
Accept yourself as you accept wildflowers in the field or clouds hovering above your precious head and give yourself a hug. This artwork was built over a period of four years, slowly growing, taking shape from leftover studio materials. In the end it took a lot of oil paint as a surface treatment, and looked raw and vulnerable. So it decided to give itself a hug. Courageous critter it is, with all its raw emotions, learning to love itself. The sculpture is pretty heavy, about 10 kilos, so it's quite sturdy. Its foundation is an old metal can from paint, and layers of plastic, paper, plaster and paint complete its body. This creature is full of love and light.
