This artwork contains many meanings, related to literature, to myths: the Odyssey, Moby Dick, Ulysses, the Sirens, Hercules, the columns of Hercules, the trip, the discovery, the knowledge. I try to explain something about this. The knowledge is not a earthly condition, but a universal one; it is a...

I was born in Italy ('52) near Modena, the same city where I currently live. I graduated in Università di Bologna literature and philosophy, DAMS, Disciplines of Art, Music and Show Arts. I followed the course of studies in Cinema and Theatre In the 80's and 90's I had several experiences as a documentary director, and short films of my own productions, of a narrative and experimental type. The most important of 91-,92 is 'In The Shadow of These Dense Arms', has had recognition in Italy and abroad film-festivals. It was about ecology, the dense arms is about the branches of a real huge secular tree. It was inspired by the book by Italo Calvino 'The rampant Baron'. It was shot in a truly enchanting place which is the Medici villa of Pratolino, in Florence, then villa Demidoff, where there's a park with beautiful, huge secular trees. Later in 1992 I make artistic direction of theater show, in Laurentian celebrations of the 500 centenary of death of Lorenzo De' Medici, in the Medici castle of Cafaggiolo, in Mugello, Firenze. Then I abandoned the cinema and theater cause it was unsustainable. So I became an entrepreneur in industrial steel furnishing, and interior design furnishings. Sculpture had always been a passion of mine with materials such as crete. So I started experimenting with steel in small welded blocks for a large mask, as well as complements of furniture; later I created some figurative-espressionist compositions, even large to cm 150. My subjects always date back to cinema and theatre; there is always an action in motion, a theatrical story, the myth. The themes range from Ulysses of Omero, Dante, but also to Hollywood characters, of how to theater of S. Beckett.
