Vessel 2 Print

The work was created as part of the master's thesis. Fascinated by the sincerity of ancient art and the "incompleteness" of wabi-sabi aesthetics, I created a series of ceramic figures and their plaster negatives to tell the story of a man who, by collecting his life experiences, becomes a vessel for their interpretation. Plaster forms appeared as a shaping factor, exposed in an aesthetic form and shown as no less important than the target figure. The "vase" itself is supposed to suggest femininity and its ability to embrace, balance in the organic and timelessness that occurs in all cultures. The cracked surface was highlighted with oxides. The whole thing is kept simple, which I wanted to maintain both in the archaic aesthetics and the awareness of the need to limit the materials used in artistic activity in the context of global ecology.
