The collection "Baroque in the Flesh: Beautiful Women of Antiquity" is designed to highlight the beauty and strength of female greatness through the prism of historical and legendary figures. It shows that even in ancient times, women possessed unsurpassed beauty and strength, which are fully compatible with the aesthetics and luxury of the Baroque style. It was carved from the mammoth tusk Height 6 cm. March 2004. Amazons - a legendary tribe of women-warriors who according ancient Greeks lived in Minor Asia, on the Northeast seacoast of Black Sea were they created a belligerent state. Amazons battle the Greeks at Themiscrya. It was probably the final war with the Greeks. After a defeat in Themiscrya the Amazons are taken captive on Greek ships. They successfully overtake the Greek captors and sail aimlessly until they reach Lake Maoetis (Sea of Azov), where they eventually marry and fight alongside their Scythian male mates. They form a new Sauromatian culture. Amazons are the first to mount horses. The Amazons were originally based around the River Tanais (Don), which was named for the son of Lysippe, one of their queens. I chose a fossil mammoth tusk, which with its antiquity sends us back to the retrospective of our human history. Mammoth ivory has a very warm creamy shade that best conveys the beauty of a young body.

Hi, my name is Natasha Popova. My work is a harmonious fusion of various artistic traditions and styles. I am inspired by the Baroque aesthetics, with its richness of detail, dynamics and drama. I strive to create works that captivate the viewer and immerse him in a world of emotions and passions. The influence of Art Nouveau is often visible in my works - I admire its grace, organic lines and romantic atmosphere. This style inspires me to create pieces that have a subtle, feminine charm and at the same time carry deep meaning and symbolism. My passion for Japanese miniature sculpture opens up new opportunities for me to create works that attract attention with their delicacy, delicacy and sophistication of forms. I respect the skill of Japanese masters and strive for excellence in conveying the aesthetics and harmony of their traditions. Inspired by pointillism and graphic art, I experiment with different techniques and materials to create works that transport the viewer into a world of fine detail. These styles inspire me to create works that speak to the viewer as a sophisticated observer, inviting them to explore and delve into the depths of my creativity. My work is not just a collection of different styles and traditions, but a harmonious combination of them together to create unique and inspiring works of art. I’m a member of The International Netsuke Society since January 2005. I had several publications in the journals of the International Netsuke Society in USA.
