Nikolaus Weiler is an experienced contemporary sculptor in Berlin. His work focusses on the construction of space and body from and to all sides. The intention is to create an objective sculpture in the field of tension between dynamics, movement, rhythm and change. The all-dimensional sculptures are a special kind. They are created in a constructive development process of spaces and bodies that expand in all directions inwards and outwards into the surroundings. An all-dimensional sculpture can be presented in different ways, changing its spatial appearance and physical expression in a lively way. It can be weightless, static, dynamic or architectural. The spatial sculptures consist of two different materials whose properties complement and stabilize each other. The surfaces of the materials become routes through the space. The metal surfaces reflect the light and the surroundings and convey light, space and lightness. The wooden surfaces absorb the light and suggest materiality and depth. Both endlessly curved surfaces run through the interior and exterior spaces of the sculpture. All surfaces are finely sanded and protected with primers. Finally, they are preserved and finished with Renaissance polishing wax. Each sculpture is unique. It is handmade and created by Nikolaus Weiler.
