Born in Sheffield in 1973 but grew up in the south in Guildford and London.
I have been sculpting forever but professionally since 1994. Worked 9 years in the film industry, which is a great training ground for artists. Work includes Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter 1. Since then I have been selling sculptures in galleries in London and Spain and concentrating on public art commissions, portraits and stone symposiums. I live in Spain near Girona but work on comissions throughout the world.
I work mainly in stone and clay, although I do make one or two pieces in copper too. I am interested in making work which elicits a particular type of emotional response from the viewer. I am interested in the gut reaction of a smile, or affection or recollection. I would rather suggest vague discomfort than out right disgust. Big emotions are easy to achieve, but it is in the smaller ones you reach in and touch people. As a result of this as well as various upcoming symposiums i am working on an exhibition on the idea of modern beauty.
