ARTIST: Anne Cochran Grey, Ph.D. (born April 4, 1958) is an American artist educator who teaches and integrates her skills into the K-12 and university settings. She has worked with some of the most notable artists, arts educators and creativity researchers in the field. Anne Cochran Grey holds a Ph.D. in Education with a major in Art Education and a specialty in Art Appreciation and Criticism. She is a recipient of the National Art Education Association’s 2012 Elliot Eisner Doctoral Research Award in Art Education Runner-Up of the Year Award for her dissertation. In addition to teaching middle school Dr. Grey’s most recent work is a museum university research partnership toward understanding some of the eternal questions in art.
The vibrant Bleeding Hearts project uses a light flexible board thick enough for the tempera and acrylic Dr. Grey uses to create a hearts in a much textured Abstract Expressionist style inspired by the Bleeding Hearts in her grandmother’s garden in upstate New York.
