The body is my subject. I paint the emotional architecture held inside the form: the accumulation of experience, memory, desire, and grief that lives in posture, gesture, and texture. Painting, for me, is a way of listening to what the body already knows.
I grew up in Sochi, on the edge of the ancient Kolchis region, a land soaked in myth. Stories were never abstract to me; they lived in objects, in places, in the texture of things. My first live drawing session crystallised this: an elderly model, unhurried, unguarded, and in every fold I saw lives lived, betrayals, tenderness. A body is just another way to tell a story.
I'm originally from Russia, grew up and studied in England, and arrived in Tel Aviv by coincidence: a marriage, an aliyah, a divorce, and the realisation that I had fallen in love with this city's energy. I stayed.
Before this practice, I spent years as a commercial artist: murals, restaurant design, fashion, nail art, tattoos. I was skilled, in demand, and burned out. The past two years have been a deliberate reinvention, building a practice on my own terms, creating from want rather than need.
I work primarily in oil on canvas, and also in pencil, ink, charcoal, and pastel.
Self-taught painter. Prior studies in fashion, architecture, and archaeology continue to shape how I think about form, structure, and the material traces of human experience.
Before transitioning to studio painting, I worked extensively as a commercial artist across murals, graphic design, fashion illustration, and tattooing.
