Raheela Abro

I am a Karachi-based artist with art practice since 2010. My works are part of prominent art collections across the world. Along with my art practice, I also maintain a teaching practice since 2011 and have been teaching at the Indus Valley School of Art & Architecture, Karachi School of Art, the Center of Excellence in Art & Design, and Sindh Madressatul Islam University. I am currently a lecturer in the Fine Arts program of the Department of Visual Studies at the University of Karachi. I was also invited for guest lectures by the Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design, Lahore, and Iqra University, Karachi as well as for workshops at numerous art institutes. I was also invited as a juror for critiques and theses at various universities and institutes as well as by different organizations to judge the art competitions organized by them. I have been interviewed by ‘Jahan-e-Pakistan Magazine and Sindh Express Newspaper and my works have been published in numerous art magazines, catalogs, and newspapers. I also practice research and have participated and presented my research papers at conferences.

I am enrolled in a Ph.D. program and completed my MA in Art Education from the Beaconhouse National University, Lahore in 2017. I received my bachelor’s in fine arts from the University of Karachi in 2009.

I have exhibited my works in local and international art galleries, including three Solo and two 2-Person exhibitions at the Canvas Gallery in Karachi. I have participated in more than 50 group exhibitions at galleries in Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Dubai, and Iran.
