Raymond Louis

The art, tools and weapons of mankind have been a lifelong interest of mine. My creations embody a deep connection with North America's indigenous peoples. Through research and dialogue, combined with tireless attention to detail, I bring to life the essence of America's past. Though based on historical fact, my works are not exact copies of museum pieces. Instead, I interpret early objects in my own way, like craftsmen did long ago.

Born and raised in New York City and educated at Pratt Institute and the School of Visual Arts. Further cultural studies informed by a fellowship of native artists, historians, and collectors.
