Fine Art student, studying a masters in Aberystwyth.

My preferred work surfaces are watercolour paper and canvas. I treat every painting the same, whether it’s in a sketchbook or a huge canvas. In doing this it enables me to concentrate on my process rather than the product. Each piece is as important as the next. Having this mentality makes it easier for me to move between works, share marks, colours and ideas over all of my pieces.
By working expressively and responsively, I aim to convey my thoughts about, and interactions with, the world, through the medium of paint. I practice as an abstract painter, for the most part. But my work derives from a real place. I am inspired by the landscape around me -- the rolling hills, stormy sea, and valleys. Aberystwyth, in particular, has given me a seemingly endless source of inspiration for my paintings. The works are also informed by maps and aerial photography, and comprise lines, textures, colours, and marks made in response to my own experiences in life.
