Renee Bergman

Renee Bergman (1969) graduated in 1994 at the Minerva Academy for Visual Arts (Groningen, the Netherlands) to receive the degree of graphical designer. Since then I've worked as graphical designer and a few years ago I also started to work as a digital artist.

As a digital artist, experimenting with colours and appearances forms the basis of my work. I consider it as a process of visual recognition, while discovering the right proportions of my compositions. Im fascinated by the beauty and expression of, in many cases, the abstract results from this process. My compositions seldom reflect the world around us, but address the aesthesia of the observer. An extraordinary characteristic of my compositions is the subtle use of thin lines, causing every square inch to be a vivid play between colours and their boundaries.

I thoroughly believe that the creation of art is a subconscious mind game. My creations are the result of creative process itself, without letting the conscious mind interfere.
