Maria Goldson

I am a British contemporary sculptor based in Buckinghamshire, United Kingdom. My practice is shaped by my British-Caribbean heritage and lived experience.

Working across figurative, portrait and wildlife sculpture, I draw upon community and family memories, close observation, life study, archival photographs and reference material to reimagine histories, identities and the natural world. Each sculpture begins in clay, where ideas take shape before being cast in bronze or resin. Selected works incorporate reclaimed materials that reinforce environmental and narrative themes.

My work invites reflection on resilience, cultural heritage and our shared human experience. I also explore how sculpture can be experienced beyond sight, broadening access to art for people of different ages, backgrounds and abilities.
