Riccardo Masini

My journey began with a rigorous analysis of form and
the interplay between solid and void — explored in the series *Tempo*,
*Forme e Volumi*, *Rovine* and *Forme Pure* — leading me today
to a form of sculpture that represents a kind of inner diary,
much like Chopin’s collection of *Nocturnes* or Schumann’s
*Kinderszenen*.
I base my research on an introspective inquiry; it is, in fact,
intimately linked to what I feel, and my language
arises from a profound dialogue with the tree, even before
that with the material.
All of this could be summed up in a single sentence that
I wrote some time ago and which I feel fully represents me:
“Everything that is inexpressible in words for me, I try to
say together with the tree, telling something of myself and something
of it.”
