Richard Prescott

Richard Prescott (b. Palm Beach, FL 1963) takes the MidCentury Modern inspiration from his adopted home of Palm Springs, CA and combines it with a designer's perspective from his career in architecture.

Always a fan Mark Rothko, Victor Vasarely and Andy Warhol - Prescott has distilled these seemingly disparate 20th Century contemporary art styles into his own: a seamless blend of Geometric Op Art, Abstract Expressionism and Pop Art.

Aesthetics of the 1950's and 1960's and 1970's are reflected in his paintings, digital prints and mixed-media works - which also speak to Richard's personal place in history. Born at the end of the Boomer generation and start of Generation X; Prescott's art embraces the memories and feelings of these generations and the nostalgia for an era when new was New; fresh, exciting and optimistic.
