My name is Ricky Motulo, also known as Fai. I was born and raised in the Minahasa tribe of North Sulawesi, Indonesia—a land rich in untamed nature, deep traditions, and spiritual depth. Growing up in this environment shaped not only how I see the world, but how I translate life into art.
I specialize in realistic animal paintings, where each subject is more than an image, it is a presence. I am drawn to the silent language of animals: their strength, vulnerability, instinct, and soul. Through careful observation and detailed execution, I strive to capture that unspoken connection between human and nature.
My works are often created in monochrome, with subtle touches of color to emphasize emotion and bring focus to the subject’s essence. This restrained approach allows the viewer to feel more, rather than just see.
As a self-taught artist, my journey has been built on discipline, persistence, and passion. My artworks have been commissioned and collected, and each piece I create is treated as a personal statement, never rushed, never repeated.
I don’t just create paintings, I create encounters. Moments where the viewer feels watched, understood, or connected.
All artworks are original and come with a certificate of authenticity.
