"Mother nature is the greatest artist and water is one of her favorite brushes". Rico Besserdich is an artist and visual philosopher specializing in "Aquatic Imaging", the art of imaging utilizing water as the key element of expression. His mission to raise awareness for the importance of water by showing its beauty through his photographic artwork earned him recognition by the Nobel Organisation, the United Nations, the Swedish Parliament, among others.
Every edge of a wave, every shift of the sand, every point of a flame, every droplet of water, is as unique as a snowflake descending through the air. Each moment carries an individual and distinct beauty which appears and disappears in less than a blink of an eye. But, with one click of a shutter, it can live forever.
Rico Besserdich has dedicated his life, his talents and his vision to this effort; the never-ending search to capture the quintessential moment. Though highly skilled in traditional underwater imaging pursuits such as reef scenics, fish portraits and such, Rico finds his joy in the boundless exploration of the complex yet simple interactions found when water and light combine.
Upcoming event: art exhibition at the Chengdu Ocean Week, September 2019, China.
