Rlm Artist

RLM as an artist explores emotions through human images. Working with a limited, cold palette, he creates his paintings in an atmosphere of melancholy.

The artist’s characters freeze in space. Hair movement and dynamic backgrounds oppose the characters. Eyes in RLM's works destroy the boundaries between the viewer and the painting: the characters either look away or look straight, translating the artist's mood.

RLM works in media such as painting, graphics, digital art, sculpture and performance.

The artist deliberately breaks the lines of the body and violates proportions, referring to the Mannerist era. Broken forms allow them to convey the tragedy of the plot. RLM's main influences were artists such as Konstantin Korovin, Anatoly Zverev, Dima Rebus, Jesse Draxler and Mikhail Vrubel.

The artist uses the author's technique of canvas priming, which is essentially a continuation of the work.

In his works, RLM often uses things that have lost their utility such as the cardboard used to pack up a fridge, an unwanted skateboard board or plaster left over from a broken leg as a canvas. RLM works with the concept of turning rubbish into an art object, in order to continue the lifetime of an item.
