I am a countryman, a craftsman, a communicator.
I consider myself fortunate to be able to sit in front of a subject and record it in paint, it has taken a lifetime to put together the skills in order to do so but I still find the act of painting thrilling. Subjects as diverse as landscape, still-life and interiors are all conveyed through a mastery of observed colour and a lifelong fascination with the representation of space and light.
I am the third generation of my family to live in this beautiful part of the south Cotswolds in rural England but I have also been lucky enough to travel extensively in Europe and to Saudi Arabia and the Caribbean to paint. I paint almost exclusively in oils.

I came through state education to study painting at the Gloucestershire College of Art and the Royal College of Art in London.

For 35 years I have exhibited almost exclusively with the Francis Kyle gallery in London with five one man shows and contributions to well over 20 group exhibitions. I have paintings in collections around the world.

I have also exhibited at the National Trust property Newark Park and more recently at the Riverside gallery in Barnes, west London.

A double portrait I painted to celebrate the marriage of Lord and Lady Montagu of Beaulieu hangs as part of the permanent collection among the ancestral family portraits in the Palace House at Beaulieu, home of the National Motor Museum.
