I first met Robert Conybear in 1981 at the Swansea fringe festival. He was the Director and I was a young, inexperienced boy from South London who had ambitions to become a comedian.
I hired a church hall for £5.00 a night but I didn't realy know what I was doing. Rob came along on two or three occasions and his suggested improvements were immensly helpful. It makes a big difference when someone takes a keen interest.
Three years ago I found myself in a position to be able to repay Rob for his kindness. Rob has always been a dedicated, uncompromising artist with a singular vision of the world around him. He works harder than anyone else I know and his imagination is breathtaking. By sponsoring him I have enabled Rob to work exclusively on his art. The results, the Inner Portrait collection is astounding.
I am extremely proud to be associated with this wounderful project.
