Graphic designer Robert Cooke's engaging illustrations seen throughout the pages of the Cleveland Plain Dealer over many years brought him into prominence in the local arts community. His career flourished at the Plain Dealer first as the Promotion Department Art Director and later as an artist/illustrator in the Editorial Graphic Department.
Robert is currently intrigued with abstract art. He has exhibited a dynamic talent for capturing color in motion with his recent work. His long time interest in fishing and marine life is evident in his acrylic painting of stylized tropical fish and coral reefs. Robert's unusual mask-like caricature portraits, influenced by visits to Miami's International Art Basel, add a touch of contemporary punk to his repertoire.
A lifetime Cleveland area resident, Robert's early love of art continued with studies at Cooper School of Art followed by classes at Cleveland Art Institute. Over his creative career, he has remained an unpretentious student of the art world. His paintings have been displayed at local galleries and restaurants.
