Romsabí Art

Romsabi is a Spanish painter living in the inspiring landscape of Barcelona, and working primarily in oil on canvas. These can be seen as bridging a gap between Surrealism - of which Spain contains so many luminous figures, such as Remedios Varo, and Salvador Dali - and many have aligned much of Picasso's Oeuvre with the Surrealist cannon - and between a warm earthy expressionist celebration of the Spanish Landscape with Cubist elements in the figures. The Landscape comes alive with symbolism, with themes of passion, creation, and the divine, as well as some intriguing personally developed symbols - such as sea Goddesses. These Sea Goddess images contain compelling underwater scenes but also glimpses of sky, which make for a very striking effect. The paintings contains elements of classical and Greek mythology, Biblical stories, these personal symbols and an over riding sense of the vibrant folk traditions of Spain. Romsabi’s body of work also contains landscapes and flower paintings, but which all carry the air of Romsabi’s distinctive vibrant blend.
