Work often starts from a photo or drawing that has an affective meaning for me. Underlying the perception is a combination of fear and pleasure as the subjects are my family or myself caught in a moment of time. I was seeing these moments as potential memories even when they were the 'now'.The outcomes are prints, mainly etchings ,or paintings with water often the theme.
My digital work is made using my drawings from life and layering many times to create a new, organic-seeming image.
Recent work takes the theme of ageing.One series alludes to Lucas Cranach's 'Fountain of Youth' The latest to the suddeness and unexpectedness of one's departure. All treated with degree of dark humour.
