.Art at the brink of extinction.

_Solitude and loneliness_

My works explores the tension between at one end, the desire to be part of what is greater. The human urge to be part of a (social) group or society.

At the other end tho, the need to come to oneself, to have moments or maybe even a lifetime of silent self-reflection.

Within this tension there is all and nothing. Both the chaos and the stillness to create. A vacuum, an emptiness, breathing with life.

Within this great void the artist makes an engagement with feelings of affection, confirmation, reassurance, removing or in contrary feeding our uncertainties.

_Raw, emotive and rebellious_

Although traditionally trained in drawing and painting techniques, my hearth is with unconventional work in technique and mediums.
I love the physical presence of art, but I also believe using digital media is not to be neglected in this day and age.

_Intimacy and strength_

From the small, caring detail to the big lines of force.
The works bare abstraction in the shadows but unfold to a sharp realistic image at distance.

I studied fine arts in high school from 1995- 2001 at Heilig Graf Instituut, Turnhout (Belgium)
After which I took up a fine arts specialisation focusing on Painting from 2001- 2002 at Provinciale Hogeschool, Hasselt (Belgium).
