I am drawn to the body as a territory of tension, where the desire to be seen collides with the fear of exposure, where what we reveal confronts what we try to protect. My work emerges from that conflict, in a search for what breaks through when the ego begins to crack: something more raw, more honest.
Masks, fragmented faces, and long eyelashes— symbols of exaggerated feminine sensuality— act in my work as mechanisms of both attraction and defense: ways to please, to seduce, and at the same time, to conceal.
As Picasso and Modigliani understood, the mask does not disguise, it reveals.
My pictorial language is gestural, physical, and emotional. I am not merely interested in representing bodies, but in creating, through many of my paintings, mental landscapes where desire, vulnerability, and identity coexist in a state of tension.
Influenced by Bacon, Schiele, Tracey Emin, and De Kooning, I work with stains, raw strokes, and unstable forms that aim to express rather than describe.
