Kimberly Beck Rubio

Kimberly Beck Rubio is a fine art photographer based in the San Francisco Bay Area.

She is building a body of work centered on atmosphere, depth, and perception—photographs that invite viewers to slow down and experience the landscape as something felt rather than simply observed. Drawn to fog, shifting light, open space, and moments of visual ambiguity, her images explore the subtle boundary between place and perception.

Raised in San Diego and shaped by a lifelong connection to the California coast, Rubio's work is also informed by extensive travel throughout Europe, Mexico, Canada, Africa, and South America. Before turning her attention fully to photography, she studied design at UCLA, earned an MBA from UCLA Anderson, worked as an International Brand Manager for The North Face, and later consulted with tourism organizations including the Dolomite Mountains region of Northern Italy.

Her photographs are less concerned with documenting specific locations than with creating immersive, contemplative experiences. Through landscape, seascape, and architectural studies, she seeks moments where weather, distance, reflection, and light transform the familiar into something quietly powerful and enduring.
