Ruth Ellingson

born Fargo, North Dakota USA I have been hand tinting B/W Silver Gelatin prints with photo retouch dyes for over 30 years. The process is time intensive but allows for a wide range of color effects, from soft and subtle to intense and vivid. I like to shoot interesting architecture and landscapes with black and white film and infuse the printed image with color to create a mood or impression that draws the viewer into the piece.I have had many solo and group shows over the past 2 decades in the Midwest and on the West coast. Themes have included Miami Deco architecture, the Champagne Region of France, Road Trip USA and various Cityscapes and landscapes. I am currently working on a series of images of Los Angeles architecture and landmarks.
