Stephen Niles

1964, Honolulu, Hawaii. Born and raised in Honolulu, and currently living and working here. I received my MFA from Pratt Institute and was assistant to Anselm Kiefer, 1999 -2000. I am a lecturer at The University of Hawaii.

My work is a commentary on my life and my ideas about painting. I try to tie my subjects to my ideas around the structure of painting, meaning how we perceive the image both functionally and literally.
